Much as I want to see her slain and transformed into some sort of unholy deathknight under Xylon's command, he can't kill her. That's Belkar's job!

Killed or sent to the dark side... I don't know which i want to see more. I used to hate Miko a lot, though Haley's cipher is the now the target of my spite.

Just as long as she does not get too many panels.

I wonder if Miko might be the first "good" character to get a look at the Creature In Darkness's true form? Surely a Paladin of her level won't be threatened much by anything else Xykon has with him. Except maybe Xykon himself, but then again, he likes to delegate.

What I like about this uh.. episode? Is that Rich is still dropping in "Paladin Dilemma's." As in, the paladin declining to investigate the missing food in favour of delivering the message.

I'm sure lots of groups out there have had discussions (and probably even fights) over what is the right thing for a Paladin to do in such a situation.

I suspect there won't be a followup strip to this one. Not a direct followup, anyway.

Pretty standard. Set the tension then cut away, leaving the audience wondering what happened. Then later cut back either mid-action, or after whatever's taken place has just finished and we see the aftermath.

For what it's worth, I've little doubt in my mind that Miko could drop Redcloak like a bad habit. She did take out the Order singlehandedly, not accounting for her *ahem* uncanny luck.

Xykon, on the other hand...

We are in agreement. I got good and bad news.

As you can see, the strip online here has turned away from the main characters for a brief interlude featuring the lovely and divisive Miss Miyazaki. Now, while this section of the story is sort of critical, I realize you're all waiting to see what happens to poor Elan. Therefore, I'm going to try to get through this section as soon as possible, running one strip a day (barring an emergency) until it's done, probably in 5-6 strips. So tune in tomorrow evening for bonus Saturday OOTS.
Peace and smiles :)

Well, everyone who wanted to see that character dead may be about to get their wish.
Could go one of two ways.

Either A) She gets killed by Xykon and entourage, possibly raised as some form of undead (tricky when it comes to paladins), the mysterious message from the High Priest of Thor falls into the hands of the enemy, and the good guys get supprised by a face full of evil.

Or

B) She somehow escapes Xykon and his horde, and gets back home at about the same time as the Order arrives there. She delivers the High Priest's message, and warns everyone that they've got Trouble. Right here in Azure City. Trouble with a capital 'T' and rhymes with 'P' and that stands for pool undead.

Of course, in the meantime, Redcloak became the leader of a nation of hobgoblins and aided Xykon in clearing out that tower full of planetars and gargantuan silver dragons. I'd say he is higher level than OotS now.
