Pathfinder 1E New Pathfinder character generator coming soon

Just signed up for newsletter. :-p

My thoughts...
Support for the core PFRPG books as soon as possible would be best. (by core I mean Core book, APG, Ultimate Combat & Ultimate Magic as well as the Bestiaries)

Formatting for tablet (IE IPad) screen size would be very good.

I want to also second the request for the ability to save characters at individual levels is very high on my list of must haves.

Another second, space for notes & custom equipment.

Do you plan for this to be used live in a game or just to make a static sheet that is then printed out?

Also a Facebook page might be another good way to get the word out.

Looking forward to seeing it in action.

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement and for your suggestions/critiques. I will try to respond to everything, please let me know if I missed something.

The Trailblazer name: there is a rules supplement/3.x system that has the same name. This was pointed out to me a couple days ago. Unfortunately, changing the name isn't easy right now. There are some licensing agreements and lawyer stuff that is in the way. I'm still trying to figure out how much of a problem this is. I'm not too worried about it just yet, but I will keep thinking about it.

iPad, iPhone, Android: Yes, this is a web application. I am planning to support iOS (iPad, iPhone) and Android with HTML5 optimized views. Meaning, it will be very functional on your mobile devices.

Light background: I understand wanting a light background rather than dark. I will considering offering another theme.

Character snapshots or versions: this is an interesting idea. I will consider it, but it probably won't be ready for the 1.0 release.

Freeform text entry: there are a couple fields in the Character Details section that let you add miscellaneous notes and details.

Output formats: Your characters will be stored in the cloud. However, I plan to offer an import/export feature that will hopefully work with 3rd party applications (i.e. Hero Lab).

PFSRD and d20pfsrd: A shared data format is an excellent idea! I'm very interested in working with these folks. If anyone has inside information or contacts on how to reach these guys please let me know. In the meantime I will try sending some emails.

Store search for figures and art: This is a neat idea. I already
considered working with artists independently on Deviant Art. I will think more about this.

Affiliate programs (Amazon / Paizo): again, those are also good ideas, and they aren't to hard to add. Thanks!

Hooking into Pathfinder Organized Play: I like it. I will see what I can do.

Use at the table: I plan for folks to be able to use the app at the table. You will be able to roll attack/weapon damage, keep track of conditions, ability score damage, hit point damage, etc. and the app will update everything for you. For example, if you took Constitution damage, your hit points and saves will be adjusted, your feats that you no longer meet the prerequisite for won't be active, etc.. This however, will come after the initial "print your character sheet" release.

Keep the questions coming. I will soon add a FAQ section to the site with this information.

Thanks again!

This does look very cool, but I'll echo the others who have suggested a name change. Even if you're in the clear legally I think the right thing to do would be to change the name to avoid confusion and out of respect for Bad Axe Games.

Understood. It will take a little time (for IT and legal reasons), but a name change is in the works.

Do you have any name suggestions?

I'm not all that great with names, but I'm thinking something having to do with guide, explorer, pioneer, vanguard, or scout would be fitting.

It looks good so far, and that's more than I can say for any of the other generators I've seen. A nice, clean user interface is what could make this win out over the rest (assuming of course that it functions properly, etc).

So, I just signed up and was wondering if there was any news on this. It certainly looks nice from the screenshots you put up.
