I played with Paul in the hobbytown game (Hopefully I wasn't ignoring him... Hey paul if you read this its Recar) He had a great deal of potential as a player and came to realize it playing Jake during the Temple game. It was a great running joke when he would snitch something and my character being the other thief/rogue in the party would try to spot him. Though I had near equal skill 9in spot as he had in pick pocket I never once caught him out of 10 tries or so. I guess it wasn't mean to be.

His dwarven wizard who did little was more an interesting choice of spells than him not doing anything. Unfortunately the temple had turned into a munchkin/powergamers/dungeon crawl that while everyone was having fun demanded a sort of optimization the Wizard didn't have. He chose interesting different spells not kill, kill, kill spells. But It was still interesting.

Hopefully I'll have the chance to play in Paul's game some day.

Good luck Paul and I hope I helped more than Hindered.

he is realizing it in my tuesday game too, the whole group is great, and have seperate strengths, but i was shocked when it was revealed to em how young he is. we play online and i never would have guessed that he was less than half my age :p

edit: p.s. paul is outta the country right now shallown, so do not be offended if he doesn't respond :)

I was wondering why I hadn't heard from him lately. Little Git ;)

Just remind him how much he looks like Harry Potter if you want to get his goat.

That is a nice essay, and pretty well written for a 14-15 year old! I thought I was reading an adult until he stated otherwise.

I guess this shows how useful "cross promotion" can be for attracting new players. For me it was watching the cartoon in the 80's and then finding the Basic set (Red Box) in my friends closet (he had never read the books, aparently it was a gift). I fell in love with the game and have been gaming ever since (well I actually stopped playing as an undergraduate in college.... go figure). I had many characters named Fleetwood that first year, good times.:D
