New PRC Help: Dwarven Drill Sergeant

First Post
So I've got this new class I made up, the Dwarven Drill Sergeant. It's a 5 level PRC, and at levels 2,4, and 5 he gets a bonus feat and can grant a bonus feat to a number of individuals equal to his Wisdom modifier.

At levels 2 and 4 the feat must be a fighter feat that the dwarf knows, and the player the dwarf granted it to can select whatever feat he wants (so long as the dwarf knows it.)

At level 5 the dwarf gains any feat he meets the requirements for, and can grant any feat he has to a number of indiviuals equal to his wisdom modifier (again, so long as he knows the feat, and the other players can seklect which feat to gain.)

I was just wondering if this seems a little unbalanced?

I like the concept (I hear this guy barking orders like "Remember what I taught you about wild swings and defensive footing!") and the "share the strategies" mechanics. That level 5 ability is a doozy, though. Maybe you should limit the number of feats he gains to a specific list, or allow him to pick five? "Every feat he qualifies for" is tipping the scale, IMO.

Thoughts:
*Maybe the dwarves who benefit from the classed fellow should have to meet the requirements for these feats they "borrow"? Verm the "dwaif", with his 6 Strength shouldn't be able to Power Attack if he's not physically up to the task.

*Make this a "bardic" radius effect? Maybe 60'?

You may want to look at the Mini's HB Marshall class for more inspiration and balance ideas.

Good stuff, Smash! :D

I think he means "any one feat he qualifies for".

At level two and four, he can select a single feat from the fighter list. At level five, he can select a single feat (not restricted to the fighter list).

... and thread moved to House Rules :)

yeah, the dwarf gains a bonus fighter feat at level 2 and 4, and any one feat he qualifies for at level 5.

then a number of individuals (say, other pc's in the group) equal to the dwarfs wisdom bonus get a bonus feat. if the dwraf is at level 2 or 4 the feat hasd to be a fighter feat, while at level 5 it can be any feat at all. however, in order for the party member to select the feat thje dwarf must have the feat, and the player must meet the requirements.

example: Sergeant gimle reaches level 4, and selects weapon focus (waraxe). He has a Wisdom of 13 (modifier +1), so he grants Aragorn a bonus feat. Aragorn looks at Sgt. Gimli's feats known and chooses power attack.

My wife says the only problem she foresees is everyone trying to get the dwarf to take the class, and then choose them when its time for the feat granting.
