Special Abilities:
  • Spell Resistance (Ex): The Inquisitor gains Spell Resistance at the listed level. This overlaps (does not stack with) any other Spell Resistance.
  • Selene's Puissance (Su): The Inquisitor adds all Inquisitor levels to her Caster Level for the purposes of penetrating Spell Resistance and for Dispel Magic's Caster Level checks.
  • Selene's Blessing (Su): The Inquisitor adds this Divine bonus to all Dispel Magic and Spell Penetration checks. This bonus only stacks with the bonus provided by the Inquisition Domain, and the Feats Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration. This bonus is added after the character's level bonus, and so the character's total bonus may exceed the level cap. (Example: a Wiz11/Inq5 casts Dispel Magic. She gains +10 for her Caster Level, and +3 for Selene's Blessing. Her Dispel Magic check is d(20)+13. If she cast Greater Dispelling, her Dispel Magic check would be d(20)+19 -- +16 for level, +3 for Selene's Blessing.)
  • Immune to Charms (Ex): The Inquisitor's mind becomes shielded from all effects which bear the Charm descriptor.
  • Immune to Compulsions (Ex): The Inquisitor's mind becomes shielded from all effects which bear the Compulsion descriptor.
  • Immune to Posession (Ex): The Inquisitor's soul becomes shielded from effects which would trap or displace it, including the spells Magic Jar, Soul Bind, Trap the Soul and a ghost's Malevolance ability. The Inquisitor may still travel to the planes via Astral Projection if she so desires.
  • Divine Sight (Su): The Inquisitor's True Sight spells penetrate to a range of 240 ft. (instead of the normal 120 ft.).

It doesn't look totally out of whack to me -- a cleric trades turning and four levels of spellcasting for a hefty SR and a bevy of special abilities. Selene's Blessing makes up for some of the loss in casting power, though.

Purely because I can't see any non-RP reason for a cleric not to take this PrC, I'd say it leans somewhat towards being overpowered.

Edit: I can't think of any other PrCs offhand that provide SR. Are you aware of any -- and if so, how much SR do they get? At a glance, SR 30 looks awfully high.

Forsakers (ick) and Monks get SR as class abilities.

I'm thinking that you're right. Worse, a Wizard or Sorcerer gains a decent Fort save, gets good HP and loses little.

I'll do some adjustments...

Isn't Inquisition an Prestige domain from Defenders of Faith?
If so if you're a cleric you must already have a prestige class.

That don't seam right to me.

SorroW: I'm guessing he's using his own Inquisition domain.

I think you went way too far in the other direction, this time. SR 30 at (potentially) 15th level would be amazing, and overpowered. SR 22, tops, (and some special abilities that don't really give you anything new, just make up for the caster levels you loose) in exchange for loosing 4 caster levels, and getting a d4 hit die and a wizard BAB just isn't worth it. Any cleric will be better off casting Spell Resistance on himself.

I think you should make the SR a high-level ability tied to character level, because if you just assign flat values it's going to be very difficult to balance.

Good points all around. See above for re-balance.

I intend this PrC to be higher-powered, so now the "spell" requirement is the ability to cast Greater Dispelling -- that's at least 11 levels of spellcaster, and SR 30 won't happen until (minimum) character level 21.
