New Race: The Aerlhún

Arhra's Compilation Method of Monster Creation

Each person replies and posts a single idea for a monster (numbering the ideas for purposes ). This can be anything from number of limbs to mental characteristics to special attacks or personality traits, and so on. In my opinion thinking in purely game terms limits creativity. So you may not refer to in game statistics,

!!!NO REFERENCES TO GAME STATISTICS!!!
e.g. saying "it has a Strength score of 22" is not acceptable but saying "it is very strong" is. Keep these concepts relatively vague as they have to work together. After 20 ideas have been put in, everyone then votes off up to 4 abilities (to sort out ideas that seem not to fit in the concept) and then the thread starter will create a monster including all of accepted ideas. Feel free to suggest stuff for how these 20 concepts will work together or speculate while the monster is under construction (names in particular are difficult). Then the thread starter will post up the monster. Rinse and repeat if desired.

I actually like this concept and would like to do similar for the creatures of Nénvelya.

So I'll start with:

1. It is an aquatic looking creature

Some ideas I posted over at a WotC thread:

One of my first ideas was to make the Aerlhún's fly ability something similar rulewise to the Shadow Jump Class Ability of the Shadow Dancer.

WINGLESS FLIGHT [regional feat]
Prerequisites: +8 Concentration, Aerlhún, Nénvelya
Benefit: Through intensive mental training you have mastered the
Aerlhún's innate magical abilities to such an extend that you now
are able to overcome the bounds of gravity and fly.
You have the ability to fly as if by means of a fly spell. You may
fly up to a total of 10 rounds each day in this way; this amount
can be split among many flights, but each one, no matter how
small, counts as a 1-round use of this feat.
Normal: A character without the Wingless Flight feat can
fly only within the boundaries of Nénvelya.
Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects stack.
Each time you take the feat, the maximum rounds per day
you may fly increase by 10 rounds.
I like the idea of a necromantic Aerlhún clan. Maybe I will do something like that. Aerlhún drawn to the dark side partially tempted, lead or possessed by the Alhgonnárae of murderers and ancient necromancers.
Once upon a time a group of priestsses of Helanta Skyface, daughter of Tjellthalas Seastorm, decided to seek solitude in the vast wilds of Nénvelya in order to dedicate their whole life to the service of their beloved goddess.
To honor Helanta they laid out wondrous gardens, performed ritual hunts and martial competitions and painted their skin to match the changing face of their goddess.
They say Helanta was so pleased with this she granted the women great power and changed them to reflect her beauty. Since those days they were known as the Gelhún, the Skyblue.
No men are permitted to reside in Gelhún territory; but once a year, in order to prevent their race from dying out, they visit the Aerlhún of a neighbouring clan. The male children who are the result of these visits are either put to death or sent back to their fathers; the females are kept and brought up by their mothers, and trained in agricultural pursuits, hunting, and the art of war.
Any comments?
