Yeah, except we want something that's part of our own forums, rather than someone elses. I wonder if there's any way of setting up an Instant Messenger type program for the gaming section, to really speed up games if that's what someone wants. But I'm not exactly comp savvy, so I have no idea how much programming that would take, or how doable it is.Macrovore said:...or we could just use rpol.net. the same thing, but cheaper (actually free.) each game master has his own mini-forum, where he can add players, and have complete control over the game. each game even has its own die roller.

P.S. Just saw Casino Royale with a bunch of friends tonight, and can definately say it's worth it. Not the best Bond film, but certainly the best of recent years.

Of course I think we would have to make our PBP system outstanding and with features that no other PBP boards have. The other thing is how often do you pay? Monthly? Annually? Semi-Annually? One time only? If we could implement all teh functionality I would like to have in our PBP boards then it could be a possibility. Just going to take awhile before then. But a good way to make a little income for the foundation.
On a side note, has anyone thought about accually registering the GMF as a "business" of anysort? Such as a Company, corporation, or even a Non-Profit orginization? If we want to be able to make money it's something we really should look into.
Nightcloak said:That would be a very good idea. Just doing it to reserve the name would be key. But we will need to realy discuss this, because creating a business (or oranization) would entail legal obligations and commitments. It's a serious step we can't aford to botch.
Blade of Desecration said:I think that at least for now, copy-writing our name should be as far as we go. I honestly think that we need to wait on anything big like becoming a business until we actually know how popular the site will be. Although it might be nice to pretend otherwise, we have to accept the likely-hood that for at least a while, we're going to have a very small membership. We won't be well known, and we need to make sure that we have something that makes us more appealing to potential members than more widely known, older forums. We needto bring something new to the table, and for that we'll need patience. I honestly don't expect our forums to get to large unless we can get some serious cred, and some serious advertising. As nice as a lot of these ideas are, let's not overstep ourselves. We need a clear view of what the GMF will ultimately become, and be well on our way to that goal, before we take it any farther.
Unfortunately, I don't know squat about any of the legalities that would be involved. Could someone who actually has some law experience check up on that?Catavarie said:My concern comes when people start thinking about ways to monitize the GMF. For that we need a business entity setup inorder to avoid some major legal hassels down the road.
