This is a downgraded version of the original Binding spell in the PHB. Too tough, too weak or just right?

Minor Binding
Enchantment(Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 Minute
Range: Close (10 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One living creature
Duration: See text (D)
Saving Throw: Will negates (see text)
Spell Resistance: Yes

The minor binding spell works in much the same way as a regular binding,
creating a magical restraint to hold a creature, but has more limitations as
far as duration and effect. Every target is allowed an initial saving throw
and can attempt additional saving throws periodically according to which
version is cast.
Up to two assistants may help with the spell and for each one that casts
suggestion, the caster level increases by 1. The assistants must join in
chanting the spell for the entire casting time.
Minor binding has only the three duration limited versions, each of which
has different limitations as listed below.
Chaining: The subject is confined by restraints that generate an uneasy
feeling among all creatures who approach the target except the caster. The
duration is one week per caster level, and the target is confined to the
exact spot in which the spell was laid upon it. The target may make as many
saving throws as it's HD, and the number of saves made each subtracts one
week from the length of the spell to a minimum of one week.
Slumber: This places the target into a comatose sleep up to one week per
caster level, and the spell's save DC is reduced by 1. Again, the target
may make as many saving throws as it's HD, and the number of saves made each
subtracts one week from the length of the spell to a minimum of one week.
Bound Slumber: Same duration as slumber and chaining, with both effects in
place. Reduce save DC by 2.
Triggering conditions can be set by the caster to end the spell earlier than
the duration if desired. Such conditions can be as complex as the caster
feels necessary, but cannot be based on intangibles as listed in binding
such as level, HD, or hit points. The triggering components cannot be
changed once the spell is cast. Setting triggering conditions increases the
save DC by 2 for the target and increases the spell's material components by
one-half. With minor binding, additional binding spells cannot be cast to
prolong the effect.
Components: Depending on the version cast, rare materials that compose
either small chains(chaining), rare sleeping herbs (slumber) or both are
needed totaling at least 500 gp for each HD of the target. Also a painting,
carving or other depiction of the target must be made and present for the
spell to work.

Don't let me down, somebody post something or it's gonna hurt my feelings.

I guess this means that 'Bind' in the PHB is about useless... except by the bad guys, of course.
