Westenberger's Polar Reversal
Transmutation
Level: Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Personal
Duration: 1 round/level

This spell tweaks the way negative and positive energy works on you. You are treated as undead for the purposes of negative and positive energy, and can be turned or rebuked as an undead with +4 turn resistance.
Focus: A vampire's fang.

This spell might be necromancy, but I am under the impression it is transmutation because it tweaks energy.

Call me crazy, but why exactly would anyone in their right mind cast this spell? The drawbacks are obvious, but what exactly are the spell's benefits?

To be used in conjunction with devastate undead, circle of doom, spells that deal you negative energy damage. Devastate Undead slays an undead straight up, and deals you 5 pts. of negative energy damage/HD of the undead.

Makes harm fun to deal with, too.

I love Westenberger the Jovial's spells!

I think that it should be Necromantic. Spells dealing with energy are usually fire, electricity, cold, sonic or acid. Or the four elements. Life force and life energy is more likely necromancy. IMHO.

What would happen if a lich or vampire cast the spell?

Thanks a lot!:)

The undead would lose it's vulnerability to positive energy and pick up negative energy vulnerability. (I don't think they could be turned, but thats up to your DM)
