The tavern door is opened cautiously, and the tall figure of a woman enters. She is dressed in well-kept Imperial-style armor, worn over a blue tunic of the type worn by the Imperium's soldiery. On her back, she carries the heavily-loaded pack of a soldier on the march, with all of the usual gear hanging from it. A few inexpensive religious medallions hanging from her armor and pack add a personal touch, but she looks, for the most part, like any of the human soldiers that make up the bulk of the Imperium's legions, with only her heavy eyebrows and oddly thick fingernails indicating some non-human ancestry. In her hand she carries a long glaive, its head currently covered with a cloth to keep it clean. She walks to the center of the room, then stands looking around for several minutes, taking in the scene, then approaches the bar. "I would like some spiced wine, if you have it," she says. The bartender nods. The soldier sips at her wine, looking around some more. "I have heard," she says cautiously to the bartender, "that this is a place where those skilled in arms can find employment." The bartender nods again. Clearly uncomfortable with holding up a conversation all by herself, she lapses into silence, looking around at the patrons some more. "Do you serve hot food here?" she ventures eventually. The bartender nods yet again, but this time speaks. "Stew's hot," he says. "Yes, good," she says. In a minute the stew is brought to her. She takes it to a table, places her glaive carefully on the ground, unslings her pack, and then says a brief prayer before eating. [sblock=ooc]Now that Fenwick has left for his latest adventure, I can introduce my second character. Meet Kaeysari. She's a little bit shy, but nice if you get to know her.[/sblock]
