Thanks for all the welcomes! I didn't mean to have such a lapse in posts, but I just started a new job and have been rather busy with a week of classes and orientation meetings.

Yes I have stirred from the deepest depths in which I lurk to become part of this wonderful community. As far as what I play? I don't have as much time for a multitude of games nowadays, but I get in a weekly session which currently alternates between 4e and 1e D&D. I am also a dedicated DM. While I do enjoy the player role, I find the most creative satisfaction in running the game.

I also quite enjoy boardgames such as Twilight Emperium, Catan, Risk, and Civilization.

I love the Clash of the Titans clip btw :)

Catan huh?
Do you have sheep for my wood?
sorry,just saw Big Bang Thoery

They made that joke on The Big Bang Theory? Huh. Insofar as I know, the first ones to make that joke were the Knights of the Dinner Table (I can't cite the issue number, but it was a ways back).

I think that joke naturally comes up with any group of geeks playing Catan. My gaming buddies were making it long before KoDT did, and long, long before Big Bang Theory was even on the air.

True, true. It's kind of a trope joke for the game. But it's very cool to see such an obscure joke in one of the highest rated programs on mainstream television. It's a sign of how much gaming culture has penetrated pop culture.

They also played D&D on one episode.

Okay, I didn't realize (never having played the game).

Of course, I should probably have picked that up from the fact that KoDT regularly does their own take on classic gamer jokes (the lair of the dread gazebo, for instance). That said, I still found it hysterical...poor B.A. kept saying that, over and over, not knowing why the rest of the group kept laughing, until finally it was worn out and Bob yelled at him "Will you give it up B.A.?! Nobody wants any of your stinkin' wood!!"

Hilarious!
