Pathfinder 1E New to Pathfinder... Questions!

The Cremator

First Post
My group is trying out Pathfinder for the first time, and I'm going to play an Arcaknight. My question is about the Arcane Defense ability. It modifies the AK's Mage Armor spell. First, is there a greater mage armor spell in Pathfinder, and if there is, is it possible to add it to the AK's spell list? IF that is possible (bear with me), does Arcane Defense apply to greater mage armor too?

Also, there seems to be a great deal of favoured class options in the Advanced Players Guide. My group has run into a stump during character creation, we can't find any (if there even is any) favoured class option for half-elf warmages, or for human arcaknights?

Thanks for any input, and please forgive me my current ignorance! ;)

The Warmage was non-open content from D&D 3.5, so cannot be converted to Pathfinder as part of an official Paizo product, though a third party may have made another class also called the 'Warmage'. I have not heard of the Arcaknight before, which would suggest that it is also third-party or old 3.5 content.

This would be the reason that you don't see any favoured class options for those in the APG. Those contain options only for the classes presented in the Pathfinder Core Rules and Advanced Player's Guide.

As far as I am aware, none of the Paizo products contain a Greater Mage Armour spell. I think there is one in the D&D 3.5 Spell Compendium which may be usable if your GM allows it.

Thanks for the information! We looked through our books and have another related question now, seeing as how we want to stick to paizo material as much as possible.

Does anybody know if the Magus class from Ultimate Magic has any favoured class options for half-elf?

Thanks again.

As the prohibited school penalties are now much softer, most Warmages could, if you wished, be converted to Evocation specialists. You could go Sorcerer. And, of course, Warmage is playable as-is, although I would encourage you to classify some of the Orb spells as evocations.

If I were allowing a Warmage, I would probably allow it to benefit from wizard favored class advantages, unless it produced a nonsensical result.

As far as I know, we have no information of that kind because Ultimate Magic has yet to be published. The Magus class we only know about due to playtesting, and until it's in print format there's no way to know what the "final" version of the class is going to be ...

Yep - at the moment, there are no favored class options for the Magus. There might be in Ultimate Magic, however, but that's just supposition at this point.
