okay just checked IE 6 is available for download http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp
and I'm pretty sure I have 5.5 ... or whatever the last download was (from a couple of months ago)

I upgraded to IE6 today and grabbing a bunch of updates, mine says 6.0.2600.0000 right now. Even after all the updates, I still can't open hyperlinks and second windows with IE6! It just makes a ricochet bullet sound effect and absolutely nothing else. What happened? Can anyone help? I'm on Windows 98.
While you're reading this.... the virus that led me to upgrade also seems to have eaten whatever .exe it was that lets you 'preview' a file like a .jpg just by clicking it once. I don't suppose there's an easy way to get that back, is there?
