New Vistas - Exploring The Louisiana Purchase

I'm just curious, how does Sidewinder compare to the other d20 Wild West adaptions (Deadlands, Spellslinger, etc)?

I don't know those games, but Sidewinder is a no FX ruleset, so no magic or monsters. I think Dog House figured there were enough books with magic in 'em, so why use up space on spells and such.

It is a very well done book. I would have to say it is in my top ten d20 products. Pick it up at RPG Now, it will be the best $16.50 you've ever spent on a western gaming product.

If ind it hard to believe that no one that has at least Sidewinder: Recoiled and Grim Tales isnt interested in playing this.

Sounds like a fun and different type of western with less emphasis on gunfighters and colt peacemakers, and more on exploration. However .....

I'm a big fan of Sidewinder, but don't own Grim Tales. I've learned from experience not to play games where I don't own all the rules being used.

Frukathka, I'm very interested in the game, but I feel a bit overextended at the moment: playing in three historical games, running another, and planning a third - my only reason for not joining up was that I was afraid I couldn't commit to this one sufficiently.

I'm sorry this didn't work out for you - it's a brilliant idea.
