NEW YEARS 2007 What are you doing?

I'm going out for New Years, for the first time in a long time. I'm heading to a place called Wooly Bully's Pub near Whyte Avenue for some festive fun with a friend of mine.

One friend backed out completely, and another (and his wife) might show up, but I doubt it. However, I'm not surprised by either's decision. Neither of them are party people, but the same can be said for me.

I have a feeling I'll be all partied out by 1am.

Anyway, Happy New Year to all. Have fun and stay safe.

Cheers!

Party. My place. 20 odd friends and friends of friends.

We'll be playing the D&D potion game, where we have a bunch of funky glass bottles from Pier One and World Market with the names of D&D potions on them, or names of drinks from one of my campaigns, and they've got an unknown alcoholic drink in them which you then have to drink and figure out what the mix really is.

LOL - awesome. nerds can party hearty too, with the right motivation. ;)

i had the lamest new year's ever, officially. :(

we were going to spend the occasion at home (which, mind you, was perfectly fine, since i had plenty of ideas in mind to keep us occupied - board games, card games, video games, whatever, as long as we all could do it together), but it so did not work out. my wife insisted (despite my protests) on getting a bunch of work done around the house before partying with us... which she didn't finish until after 10:30. i got out a simpsons trivia game which was the group consensus to play, and we got going shortly before the ball dropped in new york (we're central time), and we were all starting to get sleepy so we stopped the game about midway through. i went to the kitchen to get a spoon about 11:45, and had an "ADD moment" (i saw that the dishes in the dishwasher needed to be put away, and the machine refilled and restarted), and when i heard "happy new year's" shouted from the living room, i realized that i had spaced out, and it officially became my lamest new year's eve ever. :\

well, except for that one year where i was working at the grocery store and forgot to request the night off... but at least then, i was expecting the lameness of having to work overnight through new year's. :p
