New Year's (Gaming) Resolutions

So it's that time of year again when thoughts teeter between the past and future. Not my favorite time of year, but let's have a bit of fun with this old resolutions stuff, shall we? What are your new year's resolutions in terms of gaming? A new system you've been dying to check out? Maybe a character class (or prestige class) you've been salivating to try but haven't yet found the time? Or perhaps you're an aspiring writer who is looking for his break into the d20 arena? Whatever it is, shout it to the heavens! For tonight, the gods might just be listening...

My gaming resolutions:

To see at least one d20 book with myself as the sole author (something that is already in the works, but never hurts to hedge your bets!).

To game more often! I am the usual DM for our group and wish that we could gather more than once or twice a month.

To play a character that lives more than three modules! Whether it's NPC or PC, my carefully crafted characters seem to die in short order. Must be why I don't have a resolution to play such-and-such character class. ;)

Keep within my budget

Update both Storyhours within no less than 10 days

Buy new paints and paint everything I got for X-mas

Run some Darksun from Dragon/Dungeon

Buy No More Big Publisher Books
Not worth it. I'm sticking with Indie from now on.

Game More Often
I have a game that I run every two weeks that hasn't been running every two weeks. I have a game that I play every two weeks that hasn't been played every two weeks. I would like these games to occur every two weeks.

Buy All The Indie Games I've Been Meaning To
Namely, Sorcerer, Sorcerer and Sword, The Riddle of Steel, The Burning Wheel, and possibly Paladin and Donjon, and the No Press Anthology when it comes out. Oh yeah, and get the full rules of Kyuseisha from Andy K., which may or may not be a purchase, as I've no knowledge of his plans for that little game's future.

Resolutions

I think gaming resolutions are the only ones I can love with:

Hmmmm

Try Online RPGs - either PBP, IM, or MMORPG

Update the old website more often

Continue to learn to improve my gaming and DMing.

Run games that are more than just one-shots. I'd like to run a small campaign. I haven't done that in years.

Paint more than 1 miniature a month. I like to paint, I have hundreds of unpainted minis, why can't I find time to finish a few of them?

My goals for 2004...

Buy some books I've been meaning to get (Midnight, Seafarer's Handbook).

Start my Oriental Adventures/dragon-esque campaign.

Start my oversea exploration campaign.

Then make everyone mad by quitting RPGs.
