Giles was always a character that had a lot more to give, so far as I could see. There was a lot unexplained in his past.

Tony Head has been in at least one stage musical, the Rocky Horror Show (not the original cast, but still). His brother Murray was in the original cast of Chess, and had a pretty big hit with "One night in Bangkok" from that musical.

Sing schming. Giles is best as the doating father figure mystic compassionate back seat leader. His singing and natural charisma both helped make his character more personable and therefore more lovable. He has consistantly been the best written and interesting character on the show.

Faith should have stayed in jail, I don't think she has a good screen presence, strong acting ability or an interesting character, but I am glad so many people seem to enjoy her.

And Giles is one of the few characters I still like. Buffy whines, Xander doesn't get much screen time, Willow (mmm, Alyson Hannigan... drool) seems to have forgotten how to be a geek in favor of dark magicy goodness, Andrew annoys the crap out of me, somebody needs to slap Kennedy and Dawn around for a few hours, but Giles is still the wonderful Loremaster we all know and love.

Given his singing ability and his research know-how, I'd peg Giles as a Rogue/Bard/Loremaster. Possibly just straight Bard/Loremaster (Bards do get a bunch of the Rogue skills, after all...)
