Next Batch of Miniatures?

Going from $9.99 to $19.99, DOUBLING the price of the boosters.

With a similar effect on the secondary market I fear. Right now less desirable Archfiends rares are going for 75% of pack-price while the most desirable ones are 200% cost. Does this imply that the Huge figures will sell for $15-$40?

I can only hope that having one Rare and one Huge in each pack keeps the secondary market from going nuts.

Ok, I know the mantra : support your local retailer, but I thought I should mention that Amazon has the Giants boosters available for pre-order at 30% off :) and you only need to order 2 to qualify for free shipping.

Gameoutfitter.com has the boosters for $12.83. The price only drops if you order in bulk. That price cannot be beat.

Anyone else unhappy with WOTC "wave" policy btw?

Well, we're getting the contents of a normal pack, plus one huge mini. Therefore, WOTC is charging $10 for one huge mini. I can guess what this means for the price of the singles....<shudder>

Yes. Me.

I'm still waiting for my Archfiends case that I preordered from gameoutfitter in February.

I've heard speculation (as in not officially or verified in any way) that the price on the minis will be going up to $12.99 (let me say that this is just speculation again). *if* that were true then the price on the huge mini would be $7.

Random or not, that is a great price for a mini of that size. Heck, I pay $7 or $8 for medium minis from Confrontation or Celtos. Sure you can argue that they are random and thefore not worth the risk... but if you are playing any collectible game you need to seriously consider trading to get exactly what you want.

And I don't want to hear how WotC is so greedy and so horrible for raising prices. They are a company, not a non-profit. They provide product with the intention of making a lot of money. That is the whole point. And raising prices would not be a betrayal. Lower introductory prices during the first year or two of a product are a valid, and frequently practiced, business tactic.

How about "wave" shipping? This way those of us who pre-ordered minis do not get them if did not pre-order early enough.

WOTC does not give a rat's tail for their customers, or they would fill the orders of the people who want the minis.

Apologize all you want, but I do not agree with the argument that "they are a business out to make money, therefore it is fine if they treat customers like dog crap."
