Next Boston Game Day on May 4th

We're in the early stages of planning, but the next Boston Gameday will be on May 4th. I believe it'll be held in Salem at FickleGM's home.

Tell your friends, plan to attend, and consider running something!

To be more accurate, it will be held in Danvers at FickleGM's home. It's a bit less convenient from a public transportation, standpoint, but don't worry, we have van service (i.e. Mrs. FickleGM's van) that can pick folks up from the Beverly train station.

Thank you for getting this out there, Piratecat, so that people can circle the date on their calendars.

Within the next week (likely next weekend), I will start the official sign-up thread for folks to volunteer to run games, at which time I will also give more information regarding the venue, travel, parking, etc.

So...May The Fourth Be With You at Boston Game Day!

Traditionally they're all RPGs, although I don't think board games are out of the question. They'd maybe be a tough sell for some of our traditional attendees. I think if you wanted to run board games for a slot, there's nothing wrong with tossing it up there and seeing who registers.

At a normal game day we usually have about 4-8 RPGs total, in two 4-hour slots. Lots and lots of systems. I'll probably run Night's Black Agents (a super-spy game) and maybe something else to be determined.

I plan for this game day to be much like others:

<0900 - breakfast/socializing
0900-1300 - Morning Games
1300-1400 - Lunch
1400-1800 - Afternoon Games
>1800 - dinner/socializing

I might as well add a bit more, which I will also include in the sign-up thread.

My place can accommodate five games:

Living Room
Dining Room
Basement Gaming Area
Basement Recreational Area
Basement Fitness Room

We have the potential to expand one to three additional areas, but one would be a weather-dependent "breeze zone" that I don't want to depend on:

Basement Guest Bedroom
Garage
Roofed Patio

As far as sound goes, the house is very "open design", so sound does carry. Also, the Basement Gaming Area and Basement Recreational Area have no "hard barrier", so a divider of some sort will be utilized. I doubt we will be living here long enough to host additional game days, but in case we are, this will be a good test.

As far as food goes, since it won't be terribly convenient to go out at lunch, due to location, I am planning to have food available and ask folks to chip in to defray the costs.

As far as travel/parking goes, there should be plenty of on-street parking, within short walking distance. The driveway isn't the most accommodating, but we might be able to get a few folks in. Those who wish to take public transportation need only get to the Beverly Train Station (from North Station) at a 8:30ish or earlier time and we'll arrange pick-up (and likewise, drop-off).

I think that should answer some immediate questions. We are still in the planning stages, so some of this may change.
