[Nexus] new skill system

I am in the process of completely redoing the skills and feat system for Nexus.

I have just finished editing the new skills and feats for my system and would like to hear your thoughts

It is now a broader based system, no CC skills etc. And some skills have a requirement for low level skills before you can access them.

Learning to gain skills, above the normal free skills given out, is now available.

just tried to upload to attach but it is double the limit :( , so I am going to make it available at d20projects.

Some feats have been moved into skills, like surgery Space craft operation (Now just a pilot check for that type of craft).

I am also now redoing the starting occupations.

two major changes

1. class skills are now specialists skills which can have a upper limit of +5 intead of +3

2. Initial skills are assigned at this point not at the first level of a basic class. This is supposed to be the PC life before adventuring, thus they would have skills already.

I have finished all the feats, skills, starting occupations, basic classes and advanced classes for the draft. V1.01

Some things I did.

Moved the big skill hit from 1st basic to starting occuaption, they are supposed to have a life prior to adventuring so they should have skills.

dumped cross class skills

gave a bonus to skills for 5th and 10th level basic classes that are associated with that class, thus strong hero 5th gets a +1 compentance bonus with all STR based skills.

starting occupations can gain military/ covert skill ranks if in the right occupation and also gain a profession if they are in the right one with 5 ranks in the right skills.

Moved operate surface and aircraft and space craft to the skill drive and pilot. As the skill is now spilt up to be drive PL5 tracked 5 ranks, Drive PL 6 tracked 5 ranks.

So you need to get ranks in the drive and pilot to suit the type of craft/ vehicle.

The good news is that you can go study and gain extra skills above the free ones you get for gaining a level. Though they are not assigned right away for the free ones as you have to have 5 successes with a skill to be allowed to increase the skill b the use of one of the free skills.

Like to hear some comments on them, good or bad. ;)
