Nice news

Treebore

First Post
We refinanced our mortgage at 5% interest, fixed, lowering our monthly payment by $200.

On another note, Senator McCain has started a congressional investigation into my wife's VA case, but that can take up to 18 months. Still, hopefully this means things will be fixed within 18 months, something that has been going on for 3 years 6 months now. So that is promising news that will hopefully turn into fantastic news.

Not to rain on your parade, Treebore, but be prepared to wait and wait and wait on that inquiry.

I have a friend who uncovered some shenannigans in the AAFES system, blew the whistle, got called for Federal jury duty...and got fired for whistleblowing while on jury duty! (For those keeping score, that's 2 seperate Federal crimes.)

This was several years ago. There is no question as to the guilt of the parties in the corruption in AAFES. There is no question as to why he was fired or when. He's still waiting for his restitution.

Part of it is the delay tactics of the parties. Part of it, though, is a lot of the stuff clogging up the courts and our legislative hearing processes. His case keeps getting back-burnered, meanwhile, his family suffers.

However, if you're patient- extremely patient- (and the facts are on your side, of course) you should be getting the result you desire.

Some more good news, the fees were originally going to be around $2000, but our being Disabled Vets should cut that in half, maybe a couple of hundred dollars more than that.
