Nice Player's Guide for Kalamar...

For those of you who haven't seen the Kalamar Player's Guide, you should take five minutes to flip through the pages at your local game store. This is a useful and good looking publication. Kenzer & Co., is doing a great job of supporting this campaign setting.

While it's great for those of us who regularly play in Kalamar, it's also useful for other settings. Dave, Noah and the crew at Kenzer have provided a product that's worth the time and money you'll spend on it.

WTF! everyone is talking about this KoK players guide and my local WOTC went out of business, and the other hobbie store says it hasnt been released yet. what is going on here....
any where that i can order it online that wont be crapped up?

Ekimus,

Your local store may not have received their copies yet due to shipping irregularities and the store's ordering times and habits. You may want to run down and reserve a copy, though. From the initial demand, it looks like our distribution chain may have severely under ordered (we tried to warn them...).

Regards,

David

Of course I bought it....

And specifically, I liked these things...

1). Kalamar's demihuman races were described in detail, including Dark Elves, which will raise the hair on the back of my player's necks the first time they encounter a dark elf infiltrator (I already have one player begging to play this type of character. Very cool).

I liked the fact that these are specific to Kalamar, including naming conventions. It's not always easy coming up with believable names, this is a big help.

2). The prestige classes were cool, but I would have liked to have seen this section expanded (possibly another supplement??). This is why prestige classes were created - to give a setting color and life. The chapter on combat - specifically game mechanics associated with fighting schools - was very well done. Mounted Dejy warriors are a great foe.

Mark, you guys are really doing a great job of supporting this campaign setting. I'll be in line when the atlas and other supplements are released (Hobogblins, I can't wait). Kalamar is a living, breathing, dangerous world - if you don't believe it, ask my players.

Thanks again for the good work and I think the art is top-notch :D

My favorite quote of the month... :)

Thanks, Madranturian! I can't wait for all the rest of the stores to get their copies in so everyone gets a good look at it.
