Night Below Gallery Released

I knew what to expect from the spoiler pictures, but a couple of the humanoids are surprise favorites- the assassin and halfling tombseeker.

Is this the set that's supposed to have new mount rules and/or interchangable riders? I thought that was going to be Desert of Desolation, but I notice the three mounted minis seem loose-fitting and that carrion crawler has a saddle..

I'm pretty sure that DoD is the set with the mount rules and changable riders.

I really hate to poo-poo on all this, but looking through the pics has made me realize how much I'd rather just buy a bunch of paints and buy sets of what I want. Not a single one of those minis were real "wows" for me.

I just like REAPER minis so much more.

Is this the standard set-up? Buy a box, you're guaranteed one large critter? Because, I like the large ones... for some reason, they see a bit of use at my table.

I don't think so. IIRC, you'll always get 4 common ones, 3 uncommons, and one rare. If you're unlucky you'll get one of those medium humanoid as your rare - bleh!

There are sets where you are guaranteed* 1 large figure per box; sometimes 2.

There are other sets where the average is more than 1/box, but isn't guaranteed.

(*failing mechanical or human error - and not guaranteed by Wizards. They just guarantee you get 8 figures/booster).

Cheers!

The brass golem looked fantastic.

I didn't realise Lady Vol was large-sized, maybe she's cast Righteous Might.

Lifeleech Otyughs have four tentacles, not two like their weaker brethren.

I knew there was something 'off' about the lifeleech! Now I see it. Agree about the Brass Golem though - really cool looking and only an Uncommon!

In fact I think the commons and uncommons really steal the show here. The Cerebrilith, Brass Golem, Mephits, Carnage Demon, Darkmantle, Prisoner, Hobgoblin Marshal (awesome looking - could have been a rare), Shadow, Chaos Beast etc etc are outstanding. The commons/uncommons always make or break a set for me as those are the ones I'll be getting the most of if I get cases. This might be the first set I buy two cases of!

Wow.

You know, I don't actually collect the minis. I buy a handful now and again off EBay, just so I have a good array of the various sizes, but I never worry about having the exact mini for any given situation. As long the size fits, I'm happy.

But now I'm actually tempted to start splurging. Some of these minis are fantastic.

This set had to come out while I'm broke, didn't it? :p

I feel your pain Mouseferatu. At least most of the ones I want are commons and uncommons so they won't cost a fortune to buy as singles. BTW. This is completely off topic, but I saw that you have a WotC novel coming out next year. I thinks it's called The Black Crusade. Could you elaborate on the setting it's in and the basic premise of the book? I can't find anything more than the title on amazon.
