The idea behind a lot of the Night Below monsters was to get some of the difficult to find classics back out there.

A lot of the repaints are also due to the early pieces being ugly. In general, the newer pieces are better looking and representative while still being distinctive and new. This otyugh thing here is bleh.

They could have made a NeoOtyugh and just given it bigger fangs or better tentacles, but this thing is an Abomination!

The set looks fantastic.

No "must haves" among the rares, which is a good thing, as I tend to buy few packs (though I hope to afford more on this set).

The uncommons are pretty much universaly awesome (usually uncommons thrill me the least).

There are some real stinkers among the commons (Do we need lots of another dwarf with axe and shield and a deep gnome?) and some I don't care for, but the other are real gems (darkmantle looks fantastic, claw fighter is awesome evil, the Kuo-Toa is unbelievable and the Carnage Demon can-at the very least, proxy as dretch).

I actually picked up quite a few pieces today at a pre-release event and I have to admit that the pieces look a bit better than those in the gallery.
