Nimble expansion

Coulda sworn we beat on teh armor thing a bit with some of these same names in the Nimble thread, but the different martial have specific things that let them Take Damage in different ways. Berserkers shrug it off directly when raging using their Fury Dice; Commanders can build to focus on Defending and gain additional attacks when they do; Oathsworn have ways to Interpose on behalf of allies with bonuses to their toughness and other stuff; Druids have a tank form that lets them do some really cool Defend/Interpose stuff; Zephyrs can use their encounter currency to do different Defend stuff.

In general, Nimble wants to give players active choices to do and ones that live up to the class and subclass fantasy, while making them distinct.

I can see

I can see that, but not when it's Goblin A and B...
IME with 5E generally, "pointless" fights are where the bad have design lies, and I don't think that's any different in Nimble. Every fight should feel like a set piece, and be suitably dramatic, even more so because Nimble makes that faster and easier than D&D (5E) and Pathfinder, etc.

But I'm fairly certain my sensibilities aren't the norm there, so of course YMMV. If you want the simulation, Nimble won't cut it out of the box with the armor rules, plain and simple. I don't think a solution is very tough to find, but if it ain't your bag, then it is what it is.
