No fish tale: Thais catch 646-pound fish

That WAS a big fish...

I'm more frightened that it was found in a *river* rather than the deep ocean.... (Even if it is a really big river.)

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Thai fishermen caught a 646-pound catfish believed to have been the world's largest freshwater fish ever recorded, a researcher said Thursday.

I honestly have no idea how they can say this since a 1400 pound (16 foot) white sturgeon was photographed. And then there is the Chinese paddlefish- some have been recorded that were longer than 20 feet.

I have read an alternate report and that say the largest fish ever caught in Thailand so I wonder if the AP reported/editor bungled.
