No Sleep [CA]

Hi, warmages!

I realized that the Complete Arcane left out two spells from the Warmage Spell List:

1st level: Sleep
8th level. Polymorph any Object

Was that deliberate?

I believe so.
I remember reading somewhere, perhaps from WoTC's previews, that the warmage specialized in damage dealing spells.

The CA spell list certainly confirms this for the most part. There's only a handful of spells that don't do damage, and except for Light and Continual Light, most of those spells induce a condition (blindness, naseau, etc).

That said, Sleep looks like it could belong on the list, but I could see where it would have been dropped because of all the other 1st level spells the warmage gets.

PAO doesn't look like it belongs on the list at all anymore. There are no lower level shape transforming spells (Disguise Self, Alter Self, Baleful Polymorph, or Polymorph).

There's a good reason that they aren't there. They don't blow stuff up, or help blow stuff up. Sleep is way to subtle for a warmage (or Shelldrag as I call them), and as said, he has no shapechanging ability anyway, so why should he have PAO?
