Noble as a Feat

Those concepts hinge on a lot of differant factors. Typically Nobles only marry Nobles. In the unlikely event of a Noble marrying a base born, or bastard it is very unlikely they'd be treated as true Nobility, but its possible. In these cases it goes beyond the scope of various mechanics, even those that use the Noble as a class. In most of these cases it can be represented by taking a level or two of Aristocrat. As far as resources they'd be drawn from that of the spouse. If the title is given as a reward, then odds are any special benifits will be also determined then, such as money and land. The resources would be somewhat self evident, I would think. I think the Feat mechanic could work just fine, for most cases. Though I don't see anything wrong with the concept of giving a Feat to a character as a reward if its warranted. Thats just my 2 cents.

As usual, I've got rules for that.

While not a feat, I do have rules for nobility.

Essentially, I've booted humans back down to a "lowest common denominator" race, and taken the human racial bonuses (+1 feat, +1 skill points) and made them into a "Hero" package.

The "Noble" package grants the following benefits:

"· Each class level a hero takes provides one extra skill point. These skill points must be spent on Battle Tactics (new skill), Diplomacy, or Knowledge (any).

· Call in a Favor: Nobles accumulate a rather large store of debts and obligations, both to their lessors and to their peers. At every character level, a Nobleborn gains one favor that may be called in, granting one one-shot +20 Diplomacy bonus to gain aid from another member of society. This ability may be used more often than once per character level, but each additional use adds on one cumulative debt which may be called in by the party granting the favor at any time. (The second grants one, the third two, etc.)"
