Which class do you want to vote off the list?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say most people voting for the psi classes don't actually know much about them. And, I'll go out on a limb and say that is why they are voting them off, at the very least, that's why I'm doing it. And, that's a valid reason. I don't want to learn psionics. Of the classes listed, the psionic classes are not allowed in my game, not because I dislike pisonics, but because I'm not looking to learn alternate magic systems. Same reason I don't have the ToM classes in my game.

So, basically, I would guess that a lot of people who have been voting pisonics haven't been using much of any criteria beyond "its psionics."

Voting blind just doesn't make alot of sense to me.

I guess, that's why they made the optional spell point rules, but they should stay optional, because of the inherent problems.

3.5 went a long way to make non-spellcasters and spellcasters more balanced.
But the XPH had to kick these philosophies with both feet. It's still on 3.0 level in some areas.

Bye
Thanee

Now that the Artificer has gone there's only one class left to get rid of before I have to bow out and become a spectator. Stabbity death on Duskblade! You were the class that sounded cool and failed to deliver!

Just speaking for myself of course, but personally, I know psionics. They're actually a large feature in my current campaign. My own reasons have been already stated above, and they're similar to what you've mentioned - pick a system and stick with it.

I disagree. Given an choice between voting off something I like and something I don't know, I'll vote off what I don't know. Otherwise this becomes an exercise in determining which classes the ENWorld voters know least.

Now, I have made an effort to inform myself as to others opinions about the classes I don't know. The truenamer I voted for because I read how poorly that magic system works (the problem with tying a class to a specific system is that when that system has problems, that class becomes a problem).

I am astonished that people like the Scout, with its inane combat mechanic. When I heard so many raves about it, I was expecting great things when I picked up Complete Adventurer, but no, it's the Waltzing Wilderness Rogue.

Step, stab, step, stab, step, stab, step, stab, step, stab, step, stab.

Any class that can be neutered with a tanglefoot bag is a mess.

You mean like a low level sorcerer/wizard?
There are a good number of spells that don't require somatic components. A scout loses most of their damage to this, period.

Plus, it looks just plain stupid, like an ADD rogue. Finally, a new preferred class for kender!

I admit, I loved the scout before they made the errata that their skirmish ability didn't work when mounted. Maybe it was abusable in some way (in which case, I'd limit the abuse possibilities), but to me it seemed to be exactly what the ability should have been. An outrider that uses hit and run tactics. With that errata, eh, I like it, but don't love it.

Truelamer and Samurai had to go, they are pathetic.

I had to choose between voting off something I like and something I didn't know, I just wouldn't vote... as my vote is blind and thus throws off the poll.
