Non-D20 popular here?

A few, actually

Besides D&D, I´m mastering an L5R game (1e, though ;) ), I´m part of a Castle Falkenstein game and I still have a shelf loaded with Shadowrun and Ars Magica 4e stuff at home... :)

There is a bit of a difference between games I've played, games I know how to play, and games I'm playing.

I'm involved with a SLA game right now.

I'm planning a D20 massive multi-character, multi-setting series now with the dreaded character tree.

I've played in the past:

Hero/Champions (Hero 4th ed, Fuzion terrible...)
GURPS Traveller
Vampire
Aberrant
Trinity
Call of Cthluhu (BRP)
Stormbringer
Rolemaster (Shadow world Setting)
Star Wars (both versions)
Alternity (Stardrive)
D20 (various)
Warhammer FRPG (little tabletop)

The list goes on...

Right now, I'm playing a wide variety of games. My weekly 3e game just ended, and we've only played 3e twice in my other gaming club. Most of the people there don't like the new system for strange reason - probably because they don't want to buy new books or bother to do things like read all the rules.

So we play a homebrew fantasy game, some weird space game which uses elements of the home-brew space system that we used to play, SpaceMaster (chartmaster in space), and the ships - modified to fit the spacemaster propulsion stuff - from Jovian Chronicles and one DM is looking to start an Aftermath game since he ended his Shadowrun game when we were about to kill each other.

I have Alternity and now HERO, but I haven't played them often. I haven't played a game of HERO yet actually, which is good because I haven't made a character that I really like yet.

We burned out on d20 and took a break.

Fading Suns was fun for a while, but the system has some serious problems. We toyed with FS d20, but instead decided to try Mage:Revised.

We're hooked.

I'm thinking of trying Exalted after we wrap up the current chronicle.

D&D is fun but d20 isn't my first choice to any style. As I prefer games with experienced but not superhuman heroes, it is hard to me to get a D&D game beyound something like the seventh level. As such, despite the fact that I like more to be the DM, I am more used to play D&D and run games in other systems.

I currently run a Rifts game, but that is not on a reguliar schedule. I play in a Vampire game that is on hiatus. I Play in one D&D game that is winding down (3 sessions left is the current estimate) and I'm also in another D&D game that we are 3 sessions into. :D

Right now I only have time for one game, and it is 3e. We toyed with the idea of playing HERO or Alternity after the current 3e game.

Rolemaster and Space Master (the late 80's editions) remain my favorite games so far. The system is actually simpler than D&D 3e, though it involves more bookeeping (you have to lookup on tables, track wounds, etc.) But for me it's well worth the effort since it's more scalable and open-ended than D&D and has that gritty feel I enjoy most. It's not for everyone though, especially those who faint when they see the combat charts. ;)
Other than that I'll play just about anything. But when I DM, you can bet it's gonna be one of those...
