All rights remain with the writers. If you can sell your story somewhere else after placing it with us, then that's good. It would be nice if our writers didn't place a story with another non-paying site for the quarter it is with us. I wouldn't want to get in the way of anyone selling a story.isidorus said:I may have time to submit something, but I have a question for you. From the submission guidelines, it does not spell out who owns the right to whatever is submitted to you. So do you get all the rights to the stories?
Tehanks for aanswering my question.

Just asking because I'd like to give the format a shot, ala old-time pulp fiction serials (Lovecraft, Howard, Hammett, etc...). Don't really have anything specific in mind, I'd create something new, but I was just wondering since it seems like you want to focus on short stories. Of course, I'd definitely try to keep with the "ale house" theme.....one of my favorites. Any thoughts?

I really would like to stick to short fiction. There are a lot of ezines, fanzines, and magazines that feature serialisations, or excerpts from novels. Good short fiction is becoming rare within the genre and the art of short story writing (in the genre and in general) seems to be at a low point. I really believe short fiction is a great medium, and fantasy is my favourite genre that’s why the focus of The Ale House is on short fiction. Sorry.
I could dig up some links to ezines that do run serialisations and longer fiction though, if you wanted to find a market for your work.
