In d20 Modern, there is a drow NPC in the pre-gen adventures called Kerrianinor D'Blade (sp?), who is the owner of a drow/goth/spider-themed nightclub. I took his persona and made him talk with a pseudo-cheesy vampiric European pattern of speech and added a touch of Mojo Jojo from the PowerPuff Girls, unnecessarily lengthening his sentences. He also called everyone "Darling".
Example: "Of course, darling, I know of the items of which you are speaking. Let me be looking into my planner and I shall send one of my persons to be seeking you out. No, no, it is no trouble -- I am sure that you will be repaying me in the matter that befits the situation of my helping you."
Terrible, isn't it. My players loved it.
They did NOT love that I went left-field from the original adventure and made this guy a constant thorn in their sides. He had a lot of social contacts, and any time the players sought outside help, it inevitably came back to D'Blade, and they would have to deal with him and his ego and his Eurotrash (dubbed by the PC's) accent, plus do whatever side service he required. I'd compare him to Linderman (sp?) from the Heroes series.
