Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

"Not to worry, Tommy," says Keldar. "It's quite all right to have a crush on me."
He takes a leather roll from his backpack and opens it, laying out a selection of tools. "Now, I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea here," he continues. "These aren't thieves' tools, oh no. In fact, they're the only family heirloom I have... my grandmother's very own collection of tooth picks. She had quite impressive teeth, did granny. Dragon blood in the family, you see. My sorcerous powers will awaken any day now, I would think."

"Ishyalee, priestess of Ulura. Lakeward swiftly tired of her. I believe I was ten when I was lost," replies Keldar, fussing with the door.

"Not at all... The wardstone was a door chime to call Cassandra. Nothing more. So my arcane investigations have shown."

OOC: stop bugging me; I can't open the door till ES says I can!

"Did your arcane investigations include tugging on the handle?" Tommy asks. "I think you may find that Cassandra has already unlocked it."

OOC: I didn't think to roll spellcraft on Cassandra's blinking lights, because OOC I thought it was obvious that she unlocked the door, and so I've been assuming Tommy knew that. I'll roll that now: 1d20+13=31 lol. I'm going feel silly if ES tells me that she wasn't unlocking it. :)

"Tugging on the handle?" says Keldar with disbelief. "That's exactly what a crafty mage would expect you to do; always dangerous when a tower is under security lockdown." He taps an apparently random section of the door with a tiny hammer. "There. That might well have done it."

OOC: that's quite possible. It might also have been an elemental surveillance system. Patience! :p

Keldar prepares to enter the tower. He dumps his bedroll and his new cleric's robes beside the door, and leaves his lantern beside them. "Keep an eye on that stuff, Cas," he says.

OOC: *bump*
