[Nov] What are you reading?

Oh, definetly finish the Sarantium Mosiac. I love the ending to that one. I highly recommand Kay's latest one, "Last Light of The Sun" (I'm pretty sure). As much as I love Tigana (and all his other books..well except for the last two Fionavar Tapestry titles), I think this one is my favorite of his.

GGK rocks my boat, most definitely.

Currently I'm reading "Birthgrave" by Tanith Lee. Veeeeerrrrry interesting read.

But it wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. The stuff about Holmes ended up being less interesting to me than the stuff about the fair.

There's also this site where they review Geary's 'Victorian Murder' graphic novel series; Holmes' exploits are in the latest book.

Latest book was Leaping to the Stars, the third in David Gerrold's Dingilliad Trilogy. Hopefully there will be that fourth book mentioned but the third book does end; you could be perfectly satisfied with it at the stopping point.

Lots of knuckle-biting, lots of starcolony ship fun.

Next up: Shadow of Saginami.

The Count of Monte Christo...

I am currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo. I must say this is one of the best books I have ever read. The character are deep and likeable. The story is extremely intriguing, literally forcing you to want to read on by the sheer power of the tale. The prose is beautifully rhythmic in the way only prose of an older can be. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who has not read it.

If anybody else has read Alastair Reynolds other novels, let me know if they are worth it.
Well, I consider myself an unashamed fan and promulgator of Reynolds' work so yes. But perhaps I am a little biased ;) I don't want to actually say anything about the books themselves for fear of giving spoilers though, so if you want more than just an opinion, perhaps it would be possible to respond to your hopes?

On a coincidental note... I got so bored with the opening of Elizabeth Haydon's contribution to to Legends II that I just finished Redemption Ark and now am about a third through Absolution Gap again.

Just got done with Alastair Reynolds Revelation Space and it was different for me, but I liked it. Not as great as Peter F. Hamilton but it's getting me more and more into the hard sci-fi stuff.

Along those lines, also finished Kristine Smith's Code of Conduct, an okay book that got better as I read it.

Currently I am reading Michael A. Stackpole's Eyes of Silver, which I think is a good book with lots of potential.

And On Writing by Steven King. Love that book, read it four times.

For gaming books, reading Sharn: City of Towers, GURPS: Characters and Campaigns, and the messageboards.

Started on The Crow: The Lazarus Heart and picked up a cheap copy of The Best of the Realms. The first story by Elaine Cunningham is pretty gripping so far.

Tanith Lee! Have you ever read the Flat Earth Series? Night's Master; Death's Master, Delusion's Master, Delerium's Mistress...and there's a fifth one called Night's Sorceries, which I still have to find. The second and fourth ones are my favorites, with the third being more of a bridge than it's own complete story. Very mythic and very tragic. Supposedly these books more than anything else inspired the Exalted game, and I can kinda see why, although Birthgrave and the following books in that story seem kinda Exaltedish also.

Just finished: A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson

Reading: The Truth Machine by James Halperin

On deck: Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson
