Anyone have any experience of this? I've got the PWYW version and am currently reading the fluff which is interesting // similar to Deus Ex in feel.

Are there any preliminary info people can give me - game type (action, investigative, character driven?) ideal number of players (GM + 3/4/5) and what type/amount of dice (is it just 4DF per player or 4dF + D20/d6/whatever) ?

Finally I've never played a fate/fudge system and all of the dice seem expensive. I know I can make some with regular D6 but to remove any barriers to entry I need to get some 'proper' dice - can anyone recommend a cheap source of fate/fudge dice?

I got a pack of 5 sets of FUDGE dice at one of my local hobby stores for something like $12 or $15. It seems online that's the going rate. If you want really pretty ones, Evil Hat Games has some, but they are a touch more pricey per set.

I am not familiar with Nova Praxis, specifically, but am familiar with several other FATE-based games. The typical FATE game mechanic is "roll 4dF, add skill, add modifiers". Again, I cannot speak for Nova Praxis, but in FATE players tend to have more narrative control than in most other games, and play is very strongly influenced by who and what the characters (and their strengths and weaknesses) are, as those are the sources of most of the modifiers you apply in the game.

I ordered some from noble knight in the end. The P&P from america for 3 sets was cheaper than 1 set from amazon :hmm:

It seems interesting but quite 'loose' - the system seems more linguistic than mathematical (say like 3.X) which I think would appeal to my wife for example. (She likes writing/stories etc)

My only concern is the hugeness of the galaxies and all that's going on. It's a macro-scale setting with macro-level possibilities but players are 'micro' and this can feel overwhelming !
