Darn. I remember that in my dream, I counted points over 14 as having a value of 3, while only points over 16 do.

Sad. :( I'll never get to play him.

[edit:] Of course, I could play him by making the kind of change the awakened me (am I zen or not?) would have, thus getting:

8
14
14
14
8
16

Of course, now I would need time to actually game. Maybe at next Gen Con, if I can manage to go.

or at nyc gameday

Man, that's nothing.

I had a dream in which I taught the D&D rules to someone. Except I remember teaching all the rules, from attacking, to roleplaying, to skill checks... that was a long, long dream...

He never said he *wasn't* going to use it...

I had one like that... Except that I'd spent the weekend with a friend who is really into playing WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth on the PS2... So I was playing with all three Dudleys, RVD, and Kane...
Odd to say the least.

There was a point, when I was working for Interplay, where I would play Icewind Dale in my sleep... Hrothgar was such a jerk in my dream. Not dream related, but the worse part was driving home late a night and seeing something in the road that I couldn't see what it was. So I tried to mouse over it...

Not exactly what you would call high points, but it makes a good story.

Did you get to pick Feats before you woke up?

Must be a bard... :D

It's actually pretty tempting, though not a very efficient choice for Living Greyhawk (= very hack'n'slash).

Too often, in real life, I find myself wanting to restore a saved point. I mean, that's not only a "if only I could" kind of wish; it is really the thought of doing it... then quickly remembering that Real Life(tm) doesn't offer that option. (It is a very old game, after all, with numerous patches but no new version yet.)

No, actually. I remember thinking about my race. In my dream, I thought about picking up half-elf and playing it as a half-fey, but now that I'm awake, I realize it isn't really an option (the half-elf does get elven blood and stuff like that). Anyway, I can make it a human, a changeling: the fact that he's a Sorceror is enough to mimick the fey touch, and I can give him Sylvan as a language. Prestidigitation would be my first choice as a spell.

That's the problem. Most of my favorite spells are utility spells and I usually make wonders with them, in a game that allows for creativity. Living Greyhawk games I was in were not like that, or maybe the GM were not comfortable altering the scenario: it was very railroading, with most of the "creativity" being in the form of tactics used in battle. And those did make most of the game, too.

There's only one logical reason for this:

Your character was inspired by the gods and is capable of either destroying or saving all of humankind depending upon how you play it.

Now, I'm going to be in your area next weekend running an Evil campaign, and I may just have a niche for your man.....;)

I love that line...were it a bit shorter it'd be my sig line :)

I had a dream the other night that I was a swashbuckling handsome prince on a royal ship of the line. I was thinking about returning to the academy back home when my tongue felt something odd on the inside of one of my molars. I fiddled with it for a moment, and a little sliver-like shard of brittle bone broke off and the tooth was partially rotten in side (little yellow like wet powder was produced from in the shard's former home in my tooth by my finger). I was pretty unsure what to do. I didn't want to have it pulled out, but I also didn't want to get some disease in my face by leaving it there.

Damn it, in hindsight I easily had 16 Cha AND i was a noble. I should have demanded a Fort save vs my tooth rotting. =)

... and i won't go into any kind of thought on the freudian ways of interpreting an orally centered concern as a handsome prince out at sea with burly sailors all wearing blue and white bandanas.
