Nute Gunray (Episode III spoilers)

Am I the only one who liked Nute Gunray? I mean, he has a few things going against him. The terrible accent, for one thing, and the rubber mask meets fancy dress party look. But he's not that bad, as far as Star Wars villans go. Sure, he authorizes and supervises a violent occupation of Naboo, and is partially responsible for the Clone Wars, but that's just because he's in over his head and manipulated by Darth Sideous and Count Dooku. By the second movie, all he really wants is revenge on Padme, the woman who ruined his reputation and career, and by the third movie, he's tired of fighting and ready to sue for peace. And then what happens?

Palpatine sends Darth Vader to slaughter him and all his allies.

Poor guy.

Yes.

I dunno; I found him entertaining. After Phantom Menace, anyway. I thought he was actually reasonably funny in AotC and RotS.

I was ammused by him and Rune Haako. I wish Lucas made them feel a little more japanese.

Yeah, his death got more sadness out of me than any of the Jedi outside of the younglings. He was entertaining and then he was gone.
