[NWN] EN World players - please read this!

It figures that Elendiel would have already gotten a headstart on the new module!!! :p

Well, your post was quite eloquent. I'm pretty much sold to this new module. I'm sorry I missed the trial-run though.

The henchmen will be a good addition for people who play alone.
How big is this though? Will it be hard to find each others there?

I'd be bummed if I had to start a new character on Ascension, but for a whole new module, I don't mind at all.

Whatever is decided, I'll still play. I like the EN Players and had too much fun with everyone! :)

I have very mixed feelings about the CNR, so I'm not that sorry to try a new system. Well, the HotU system. It might actually be easier on the server...

Some of the features actually remind me of Morrowind, particularly vampirism and lycanthropy. ;)

I'll have a look at the documentation today.

I always miss the good stuff! :)

Sounds fascinating. I'd love to try it, and I trust Elendiel's judgment like I trust valn's. (Don't worry, valn, that's a good thing. :D) I'll look over the documents later today.

If there's one doubt I have about it, this is it. It is really big (500 areas total), and, coupled with the ease of travel, may prevent that "static small community feel" we get in Ascension.

I´ve not seen this world yet, but it sounds fantastic!
I´m sure that we can keep the friendly "en world feeling".
If we continue to help each other and be friendly as in Acsension, I don´t think that huge areas will be any big problem.
People are still going to hang out at the well :D
I´m prepared to try it out with the gang.

Sounds fantastic

So after the test (which seems to be successful) how soon will the server be up? Also, is there a way to delete characters on the server now? I'd like to delete some of mine to get the names back.

This community is great!! I absolutely love playing here.

Ooooh, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside! :o

I am browsing the document rapidly and here is one of the things that I really like:

However, not all creatures approve of their neighbor’s existence in the world. The Lizardfolk, including Yuan-Ti, are generally unfriendly towards all other creatures. If pursued by a formidable group of Orcs, you may know of a clan of Lizardfolk dwelling nearby and run through their neighborhood. The Orcs may redirect their attention towards the Lizardfolk, who may likely do the same, allowing you to escape with your life.
Some of you may remember that screenshot I took of being pursued by stirges, bandits, bears and beetles (have a look at the thread, in my sig). Just that sounds like a major improvement. I also hope the improved AI will offer more interesting opponents.

If I get the free recall system right, even if people are scattered, by forming a party, they could all use their rune to teleport to the party leader's location. The extensive recall/party recall system (which seems to be free) sounds like we could find each others when needed.

There are so many custom scripts and such, that I'm wondering how the server will do though. We'll have to see how the lag will be.

Although I read that Sevliss was designed so that PC could adventure on their own, I found in PoA that traveling with other PCs is (at least) ten times better. As such, I'm interested in creating a character to be used exclusively to play with the same party (like Celia, Chaz, Asmo and Elendiel are doing for PoA). I might create another character for solo play, if I have the time.

Morrus, isn't there a map somewhere of the Sevliss Isles that we could have a look at?

Ooooh, I'm pretty excited! When can we try it next?? :)

I have looked through the documentation and it looks pretty impressive. I wouldn't worry too much about losing the community feel, especially if there is a central gathering point were people can hang out at. System requirements and bandwidth might be a bigger issue.

Recently Wizardru, Valanthe, and myself were looking for a simple module we could just jump into at have fun with and found out about the Random Dungeon Generator. It has an in at the top with a vast dungeon that spawns challenges based on average party level in each room. Great if you just want to hop on in and start cracking skulls.

If you want a pre-packaged PW, the module you tested looks the way to go.

Impressive

I downloaded the .zip file that Morrus posted, and read it. In a word...WOW. Very rich system. Frankly, it sounds even cooler then the official NWN modules (if you include the fact it's for multiplayer).

If it will be easier to admin, easier to add to, easier to support, then I'd say that from a DM perspective, go for it.

And I think anyone who takes the trouble to read the preview file will be awed by the possibilites.

I know certain (You know who you are) people will be letting go of something they worked really hard for...But..wouldnt you rather do this now, then at Level 30? Heh.

And wow..Imagine the grief Morrus would have put up with if he did this when there were 20 some people level 20 and over? Heh.

I've been reading the documentation, and... yeah, that's an "Island" - assuming you mean in the same way that Australia and Antarctica are islands!!!

If all those changes are backed up by code, that's one marvelous piece of work. I also have to marvel that the thing wouldn't need a gigantic server to keep it going. We'll have to see.
