I'm currently using the w,a,s, and d keys for camera control and the mouse for movement, but I can't back out of combat that way. I hate drive mode, and really only use overhead view (angled as far down as possible). Do any of you have custom control configs you can recommend? Thanks.

Depending on how lazy I am, I either just use the ol' "click here" method to guide my little buddy around and then use the mouse on either edge of the screen to turn the camera view, or I use Microsoft's Strategic Commander. It's like a joystick for your left hand that takes the place of the arrow keys and has 24 programmable buttons.

After some toying, I settled on a and d for rotating the camera (mouse3 works too), clicking for moving forward, and s for retreating. I'm really annoyed that there's no command to tell my hirelings to back off though. All I can do is drag potions onto them and hope they don't die from the three or four AoO on them while they drink.
