NWN: Pre-ordering

Hello all,

i'm planning on pre-ordering NWN becasue it'll be impossible to find when it actually comes out. I was wondering if any of you have suggestions on from where i should be pre-ordering (service, prices, etc.). I live in Canada, so i guess i'll probably have to pre-order from somewhere in the US or Can.

Thanks in advance for the info!

Ben

Ho-o-old on thar, Bobbalouie...

I'd wait until you see a report that it has gone to the printer. As far as I'm concerned, it's vaporware.

Personally, I'm going to have to wait until I have a computer powerful enough to actually RUN that bad boy.

Geez, what is with people and this "vaporware" crud? Took a few years to make a type of game that's never been made before while the developer sues it's publisher and has to jump ship to find a new partner. This makes it vaporware? Y'all are gonna look like Sauron-with-a-pointy-helmet when this game comes out and it rocks.

The game will be out this summer, it probably won't be too hard to find. I per-ordered it at EB a couple weeks ago. The surprising thing: it's retailing at $90 Cdn! I guess the only version they're releasing is the collector's edition... :)

Well EB and Gamestop both have it listed at $55 US, so $90 CDN doesn't seem to off.

Has anyone actually heard official mention of a collector's edition yet?

And for every one who has at some point whined about running it the sytem requirements aren't that high. So unless you're using a PC from the stone age you'll be able to play it.

How are pre-orders going to be handled?

Any of you know how pre-orders will be handled? I've known some games where the pre-order process was poorly conceived and you would've (note correct use - not "would of") been better off just going down to your local store on release day.

This is NOT to say I have any evidence that NWN will do a bad job with pre-orders, but I'd like to know how they will be processed so that I could make an informed choice.

Here's an example: A certain wargame that was an awesome game I still play advertised for pre-orders about 30 days before going gold. However, the pre-orders weren't given priority, they just put your name and address on a "slip of paper" and put it in a pile. Well, they gave the pile to the distributor as is - meaning that the first folks to pre-order were on the BOTTOM of that pile and actually received the game after joe blows who pre-ordered one day before the game went gold.
