On a serious note I love the dog idea too. It adds a bit of hilarity to the whole...their fighting like cats and dogs. Humor is a good thing. Too few people have it these days.

I like the shark people too. Good for pirating campaigns....bad for bar brawls...LOL!!!

Hey Nyaricus, looking forward to your commentary on my take on the Sharvellan. I'm also eager to see your fey race.

I would suggest that you make the Vanara simply another culture of the Hadozee rather than an actual separate race. You run the risk of giving this particular pair of races a "Planet of The Apes" feel if you make the monkey-men and the chimp-men be totally different yet obviously similar simian races.

On an historical note, the Hadozee are very similar to a TSR race from STAR Frontiers, published back in the very early 80's. The Yazirians were physically weaker than humans, but could glide and were clearly similar in appearance to the Hadozee. They also had light sensitivity, a warlike culture, and a rage ability. They typically chose a life enemy and did not have a very happy-go-lucky culture.
