NYC DND meetup April 10th

I made it to the meet up and met some really great people. Six of us showed up in total, including Tellerve and I from EN World.

It took us awhile to find each other, but eventually we got together. Matt the owner didn't seem to know about it, but he had his hands full will the regular Saturday Magic CCG kids.

Highlights included Tellerve calling me on the cell phone when I was standing three feet away, and everyone trying to find Arthur. :)

PA: Neutral Ground is open to Midnight on weeknights and 1 AM on Friday and Saturday.

wait, someone said only 2 people showed.

I apologize for missing the Meetup. I woke up at 3pm. It takes at least an hour and a half to get to the meetup, and I still needed to shower and go cash a check. I originally planned to get there at 2pm.

Kitnerd apparently couldnt find you.

I told Matt in advance 3 weeks ago that the Meeetup had 10 votes for NG making it a solid winner far in advance for a venue. Thing is, Matt is more concerned with things that make him money. And typically the place is packed with card players.

Kings Games in brooklyn is a better venue but its too far out of the way for everyone to make it.

I hope you guys still make NEXT months meetup. Maybe during that one we can all plan for an Enworld gameday.

again, sorry!

PS: If we could get a second person from here to act as host, in addition to myself, it would help. (Basically you're responsible for printing the lil red sign to put on a table.)

I WAS THERE! I arrived at 4 on the dot and couldn't get anyone at any of the DnD games to talk to me. When my daughter asked, she was told that none of them had anything to do with meetup.
You have annoyed the old B***ch with the pointy sticks. You will be punished. No chocolate cookies next month.

Yeah, we asked the only two tables playing D&D, and they didn't know anything about it.

If you really want to punish me, bring oatmeal cookies instead. I really hate oatmeal cookies. Really. ;)

:)

I think Neutral Ground was a good choice because it's more "central". I met with people from four of the five boroughs (doesn't anybody from Staten Island ever do anything? ;)) and the surrounding greater metropolitan area.

We didn't sit down together until about 4:30, once we managed to find one another. We didn't play, just sat and talked for about an hour about ourselves and our interests in D&D and d20 Modern.

Anyhow, I'm really sorry we missed knitnerd and daughter, and anyone else who might have been there and missed us, or didn't make it. :(

Next time, everyone who intends to go may either (1) post their picture in this thread or (2) wear a specific item, for instance a simple "D&D meetup" tag.

Typically, the Host (me) brings a printed MEETUP Sign to place on the table. I printed the sign, but didnt go due to....sleep. :-p

Again, its my fault, and I apologize.

Arthur has achieved landmark status. I think I better sign up as a host. How many 50 year old women with knitting do you see in Neutral Ground?
