I am planning on running a hex-exploration session in two weeks and diving into preparing for it.. which means re-reading this as well as hex building resources.
typo: On page 6 where it talks about fast and slow progress, both paragraphs state that the parties speed is increased for that day.
Recommendation:
----
Page 8 under Provisions and Rationing. I like how this works except for one minor detail, it would be easier to hunt for food when you are on a road? I would prefer a table of 'game availability' that sets the hunting difficulty and higher difficulties reduce the parties speed as the hunter has to range farther from the planned course. Something like
Abundant, braces of coney jump into your arms, difficulty 10, speed reduction 0
Common, civilized areas make game harder to find, difficulty 13, speed reduction 1
Scarce, climate, drought, or other impact has reduced the amount of game in this area, difficulty 16, speed reduction 2
Desolate, something has eaten or driven away food sources, difficulty 21, speed reduction 3
As with the travel score, bad weather increases the hunting by one category {or two for extreme weather}

And mostly unrelated: Inspiration Pad Pro is a program that generates results from complex random tables. I am going to be using it for this upcoming game and I thought I would mention it to you since there are a lot of random tables in these rules.
It would be very cool to have a community repository of Pad Pro generation files
