OneBookShelf is a market-leading digital content delivery company. We create and operate digital marketplaces that connect content holders and consumers. We are focused on transforming specific publishing categories like roleplaying games, comic books, green living resources and more by making the content in those markets available in a digital download format. The six-year old company continues to grow and needs a Software Development Manager capable of overseeing the technical aspects of the company’s growth and the completion of vital development projects.
Under the general supervision of a managing partner, this position provides leadership and management for the software development group. Strong software development experience in a team coding environment and project management skills are required. Tremendous autonomy will be the norm for this role, consistently driving towards excellent results.
The Software Development Manager will manage a local team of developers in addition to multiple remote contractors. They will be required to perform project management roles such as new project schedule and resource estimations, prioritization of projects based on business objectives, weekly load balancing of development staff, and execution of projects on schedule. Additionally, this position will be a “hands-on” manager, able to provide expert coding examples to team members while pushing decision-making down to the individual developers.
The position is based in the Stone Mountain suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. Candidate must live (or relocate with our help) within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administrate development cycle
- Apache, PHP, MySQL, Linux system administration
- Code versioning through Subversion and Eclipse
- Oversee/implement live rollout of code
- Communicate with hosting provider
- Create tech support tickets
- Purchase new equipment/services
- Plan and prioritize site projects
- Coordinate programming team
- Create and design new site features and enhancements
- Administrate internal network (manage firewall, router, etc.)
- Perform live site debugging/troubleshooting
- Coordinate team for site events (promotions, code rollout, etc.)
- Oversee publisher and customer technical service issues
Qualifications:
Experience
- 4+ years of web application development experience
- 4+ years of SQL experience
- Experience working in a team coding environment and the ability to lead team members
- 2+ years of experience working with project management processes and tools.
Technical Aptitude
- Expert in PHP coding and debugging
- Expert in HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Proficient in MySQL and/or SQL coding and administration
- Proficient in developing and reviewing functional requirements and code documentation
- Experience with osCommerce web based POS.
- Experience with Linux administration
- Experience with relational database design and development
- Familiar with version control systems such as CVS or Subversion
- Familiar with Apache configuration, PHP configuration and Security
- Exposure to web services including SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML-RPC, curl

Education
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience
