Obscure Warlord power query - A Plan Comes Together

Multiple powers have been errata'd that they've forgotten to list a duration because it's the development default of "until the end of your next turn". Just go read the errata documents. This seems pretty clearly to be another case of the same.

This triggers on the creature's turn, always, and in those case they do end of target's next turn only rarely. They more commonly do end of the character's next turn - which, mind you, is also a bad duration.

I like start of target's next turn. You get a whole round of CA to poke at the thing, and it loses most of its actions in one turn, but not two. Its a bit of an odd duration, but it does get used for similar stuff now and then.

End of current turn seems to be the intent. You knock a creature prone and daze it, which means that if wants to stand up that's the only thing it can do. That makes it basically a stunning effect in disguise. Alternatively the target can make an attack or something, but then it remains prone and continues to grants CA anyway. Making the daze last any longer is neither necessary nor appropriate for an encounter power that already combines multiple hits, free movement, and status effects.

I missed the fact that it triggers at the start of a creature's turn. In that case, start of the target's next turn seems an appropriate duration.

To be clear, even if it's just _this turn only_ it's an amazing power. I actually spent a feat to get it on my artificer MC Warlord.
A man that talks the talk AND walks the walk. That's certainly an endorsement. If a reputable poster such as keterys has gone with this build in his own game, that's worth more than my talky talk talk.

It is a nice power, and it works well with our group, which includes an Avenger who tends to go off after a lone target and a Barbarian who's charge-oriented and can avoid provoking OAs when charging.

I lol'ed when I read that power in the warlord build guide back when I was playing a ranger / warlord. So fun, so powerful that class. OP even. No action triggering two actions by allies is kind of...uber fantastic. Being able to offload many of your encounter powers in a quick burst is a huge benefit to the party, killing stuff faster (alpha strike), is probably the most optimal thing you can do in 4e. (or any edition, really).

For a level 27 power (isn't it?), it's appropriately good. Or maybe it's 17? can't remember.

Yeah, given its usefulness I'm surprised it's a free action rather than an immediate action to activate - it's like "no, we don't want to inconvenience you even a little bit in order to use this power."

It is indeed 27th level.

Funny coincidence, BTW - the warlord I'm playing is called Gorgaroth.
