Obscuring Mist and line of sight when casting spells

Only if you can see or touch him.

How tightly would you adjudicate 'see' Hypersmurf?

Would blindsense, tremorsense, sonar etc be able to "see" the target? In one sense seeing and targeting a shadow is similar to these.

If it's targetted, (such as Hold Person) then partial cover or partial concealment does nothing (no attack roll, no miss chance).

Full cover breaks line of effect (except in special cases, such as a Tower Shield used for full cover) and so you can't cast Hold Person on the target. Fortunately, Full Cover is usually both ways.

Full Concealment means you can't see the target. Thus, no Hold Person.

Or at least that's my current interpertation based on the fragments I remember.

May i ask for a clarification? So what spells can be used to target the tower shield and what spells cannot. It says for a tower shield that the spell caster can just target the shield. Do they mean attack spells that require an attack roll, or just any spell, makeing the tower shield useless against spells.

Blindsense and tremorsense - like Scent, for example - still impose a 50% miss chance; you can determine which square the creature is in, but not where he is in the square.

Blindsight, on the other hand, I would allow.

It means spells that have an entry along the lines of "Target: One creature".

Most spells that have ranged attack rolls are have Effects, rather than Targets. Using a Tower Shield for full cover will protect you completely from a Scorching Ray or Acid Arrow, but not at all from a Charm Person or Magic Missile.

ok. Thanks. I thought it must be something like that, but i wanted someone with wise words that would have more inside info then myself, or at least someone with a more logical mind then myself.
