Last time I was by Travelling Mage was almost exactly a year ago...hadn't even been down that direction since, so I had no idea they'd closed since then(being out of the country for a couple months really screwed my sense of time up). Guess I'm not too surprised they're gone, but its sad to hear.

Of course, I'll admit to use BAM the most as I've got a discount card there. I'd be by Florida Bookstore more if it wasn't on the other side of town.

I hadn't thought about the Rathskellar in years. Ray the Traders moved to SW 13th street for a few years until he had to close due to fire code violations. Big surprise there when his books were stacked from floor to ceiling. This is not to be confused with Traders South which is still in business with most of the same dancers from the 80's.

Fire code violations, huh? I never knew that was what shut him down. You're right though, it's no surprise. You just don't find places like that -- at least I never have.

I was bummed when the Rat burned down, but the O&B was always preferred anyway. Do miss the Vulgar Boatmen.
