Klaus,
I'll need to commission you again mang. my group is heading to visit the Forest Oracle. I need to rough her out now. She has been a quest they haven't followed up on until now so I didn't get around to making up a description. the druids have sent the party to check on her. also the party wants to find out what oracles she might have concerning them. so possible hooks for new adventures...

[sblock]Think Medusa like womang with thorny vines for hair instead of snakes. her thorns are poisonous and give you dreams. the dreams can come true.
She turns you into a plant instead of stone if you meet her eyes. she doesn't speak common.

i was thinking of making her go into bloom. and the imbalance of hormones has caused her to go very wacky. add flowers to the vines. the scent of the flowers also stirs up creatures within x miles.

i was also thinking of adding something along the lines of plant control. and make her a vegetarian. so she eats her plant victims.[/sblock] l am looking for henchmeng, hirelings, and such too if anyone wants to help flesh out her "lair"

if you've only played 4E and want to help. just give her some powers and minions.

if you're stuck on d02 make her a BBEG. and build her with levels. feats. class abilities. also include companions or thralls or guards.

if you're still playing ADnD or remember how. she is a neutral aligned NPC. with her own "domain"

if you're still playing D&D or remember how. she is a monster.

don't be afraid to have her be lethal to those who seek her oracles.

What other kinds of ideas are you seeking, diaglo?

Have you recently checked out RJK's Garden of the Plantmaster?: it has plant demons, herbs and effects, links to the Lost City of the Elders, etc., and is full of evil stuff (along with the garden levels of S3, which Klaus already alluded to). RJK's Dark Druids might also have some tweaks you could throw into the mix, with its "nature gone bad" themes.

Other ideas:
- Jack and the Beanstalk: have a giant stalk grow into the sky as her escape route, and it leads to another of her lairs/demi-planes/whatever
- My nearly-five year-old Ethan has a Batman Strikes comic book issue focusing on Poison Ivy and an escape from Arkham; she wants to see/check out a rare plant, that turns into a giant carnivorous venus flytrap-like-thing under her influence; also worth re-reading for planty ideas: Neil Gaiman's Black Orchid
- I'm also fond of violet fungi, shriekers, and other beasties beloved of Tsuggtmoy. Perhaps have your Forest Oracle worship her?? Or, do you not want her to be a foe, per se, and more of a fixture in the game??

thanks, Allan

that is just what i need.
along with the stuff Explorer Wizard gave me i should be set for this weekend
