So are the scans the same as the ones at RPGNow? For example, does the Greyhawk PDF at Paizo have the same comments (or errata) written throughout the file?

I, too, would like to know if the Paizo scan of Supplement I: Greyhawk has any writing on it. I was extremely annoyed to see that when I bought the PDF from RPGNow. Official errata it may be, but it's unsightly, and I don't want it.

er.. call me simple, but why would they need to destroy the original? sure they would have trouble with hardbacks and flatbed scanners.. but surely you can still get hand-held scanners?

Probably because they're not using flatbed scanners; they're using multi-pass drum scanners. For those to work, the pages have to be removed and affixed to the drums.

Also, I never owned the print copy of the RC and was disappointed that they had removed some things such as the artifacts.

Yeah, I too was bummed that the artifacts rules didn't make the cut into the RC when I bought it shortly after release (man I used that book to death). But I still have the black books around here somewhere for them.

Woo hoo! The three little booklets finally available as legal PDF! This is great news! I wonder if Moldvay/Cook/Marsh is in the works.

By the way, here are some notes on how Gygax plays "three little booklets" D&D these days. Something I plan to draw on should I ever get around to playing it myself.

I would like to see the red book basic set and the blue book expert set available.

The (Mentzer edited) Red Box Basic & Blue Box Expert are available. As is the original (Holmes edited) Basic Set.

What isn't is (Moldvay edited) Basic Set that came between those or the original (Cook/Marsh edited) Expert Set.

(The Moldvay Basic Set is sometimes called the pink or purple box because of the color on the sides of the box.)

Once you opened the boxes, both the Moldvay & Mentzer Basic books were red, & both the Cook/Marsh & Mentzer Expert books were blue.

Edit: Fans have offered to provide RPGNow (& I assume Paizo as well) PDFs of the "missing" Basic & Expert Sets for free, but Wizards hasn't granted the OK for them to be sold.

... dreamy sigh ...

Just seeing the covers of the Moldvay Basic and Cook/Marsh Expert gives me huge twinges of nostalgia.
