Of Sound Mind Questions SPOILERS

Wolfspirit

First Post
Heh, yep, I got Of Sound Mind today (allthough I had to get two different gamming stores to go through their product shipments. Lazy Gamers :P) and here are a couple questions I've got so far.

Umm, yeah Spoilers. Go buy it or have your DM buy it and run it, then you can read these, mmkay?

First off, what would happen if someone tries to remove a splinter of the Dragonstone from someone's skull surgically? I could see a lucky party (beating both of the DC 20s on Spot and Heal) trying to do something like that on the Psionic Horses (well, prior to the whole "psycho-psionic-horsies-from-hades" attacking thing). Trust me, my players are the kind to do silly things like that.

Allthough it's mentioned under "Returning Triumphantly" that the Dragonstone has Fast Healing, I never found where that was described. Could you point it out to me if I missed it?

How exactly would one die from subdual damage, and would this be something that the PCs should worry about in the Bell Tower?

Is Lucius Krekket REALLY supposed to have an Extotic Weapon Proficiency (warhammer)? I kinda thought those fell under the Martial Weapon category. Ok, so that one's not that big of a deal, I just thought it was amusing. On a related note, the fact that the goblin prince had ranks in proffession(prince) really cracked me up :)

End Spoilers */

Seriously though, Piratecat, this module looks like it'll be REALLY fun to run, and definatly not your ordinary Dungeon Crawl.

Ooooh, good question! You'll see a partial answer under the heading "Thimdrul's experiments." Use a Heal skill, DC15, aqnd you can bet the horse will be fighting the whole time. If unsuccessful, part of the shard remains in. If successful, the creature will return to normal in about 12 hours.

In the sidebar "The Dragonstone", near the end, you'll see "fast healing 1" in the stat block. It heals one point per round.

I actually checked with a professional pathologist on this. Bells can kill you with internal damage. It would take some time, though, probably more than an hour. You'd go deaf long before then, of course, and that's a greater risk for the PCs. I would say temporary/partial deafness might occur after five rounds of close exposure, permanent (until cured) deafness after two minutes or so.

Aha! That's the secret exotic ninja warhammer....

sigh.

There's my first typo. Nice catch.

Also note that the monk dream isn't in there. It'll be on the FDP web site within a week or so.

Oh yeah! He's good at his job! :)

Thanks for the questions, and for buying it; I hope you like it!

See, my answer would have been:

Certainly! Just wait until you see that warhammer! It'll make a cameo appearance in OSM2 - so check it out!
